Peter Reid Lifts First Trophy With Thailand

Thailand boss Peter Reid has enjoyed a good start to his South-East Asian career as his team clinched the T&T Cup on Sunday with a 2-2 draw against hosts Vietnam in Hanoi.
The Thais only needed a draw to win the three-nation tournament and took the lead just after the half-hour through Nataporn Phanrit. Six minutes after the break, Vietnam were level as Nguyen Viet Thang headed home an equaliser to send the 15,000 fans at My Dinh Stadium into raptures.
Thailand restored their lead soon after thanks to Teerasil Dangda and while Vietnam pulled back a late strike, the visitors hung on to get the draw and the cup. "It was a tough game for both teams," Reid told  The Bangkok Post. "We wanted to win the match but we conceded two fantastic goals and the Vietnamese team played a good counter-attacking game.
"However, I am very pleased with our second goal and although we finished with a draw I am pleased with the team's performance and the title."
