Iran Wary Of Wounded UAE
When Iran travelled to UAE for a World Cup qualifier earlier this year in the third round, coach Ali Daei was vocally and openly confident of getting the points. This time, he is playing it a little cooler…
Team Melli arrive in Dubai knowing that the hosts can’t afford a fourth defeat in four games in Group Two on Wednesday evening. Even a draw for UAE may not be enough.
Daei is wary of this wounded and cornered beast and knows that his team need to be on their guard if they are to win in Dubai for the second time this year.
“The match against the UAE will be one of our toughest, since they have nothing to lose and desperately need all three points to qualify for the final round,” Daei told Iranian media.
“We must control the game by programming and presenting a rational and well-organized performance to pave the way for the Iranian side to qualify for the 2010 World Cup,” he added.
Iran have four points from Group Two and could go top with a win at the Al Nasr stadium.
