Indonesia Turn Down Tottenham Hotspur Tour

According to reports in Jakarta, the Indonesian FA has turned down an offer of a summer friendly from Spurs…
Tottenham Hotspur wanted to play in Jakarta during the European off-season but PSSI, the governing body of the beautiful game in Indonesia, couldn’t find time to accommodate the London club.
“The club’s agent from London called me last week and offered a Jakarta tour in May. We’re flattered by the offer, but unfortunately we had to say ‘no thanks’,” PSSI general secretary Nugraha Besoes said, according to The Jakarta Globe.
“It’s not because of legislative elections. It’s because in May all Indonesian clubs will be very busy in local competition, so it will be hard to find players that will be willing to play in a friendly.
“And I’m sure the clubs will also be reluctant to release their players.”
Manchester United have a game scheduled in Jakarta for July, while Bayern Munich and Roma both visited last summer.
Liverpool are also considering a tour of South-east Asia.
